 A editora Yen Press anunciou nesta quarta-feira [20] que irá lançar em 16 de março deste ano a primeira parte da história em quadrinhos baseada na série de livros 'Crepúsculo', escrita por Stephenie Meyer. 'Twilight - The graphic novel - volume 1' terá tiragem inicial de 350 mil cópias, considerada bastante alta para um álbum de quadrinhos. O segundo volume ainda não tem data de lançamento. A história está sendo adaptada para o formato pelo artista coreano Young Kim a partir dos textos originais de Meyer. Segundo a Yen Press, a graphic novel em branco-e-preto terá uma 'rara fusão de técnicas de quadrinhos asiáticos e ocidentais'. A autora dos romances ofereceu consultoria para Kim durante o processo de criação dos quadrinhos. 'Eu gostei de trabalhar nessa nova interpretação de 'Crepúsculo'', declarou Meyer em um comunicado divulgado pela Yen Press. 'Young fez um trabalho incrível transformando as palavras que eu escrevi em belas imagens. Os personagens e cenários são bem próximos ao que eu imaginava enquanto escrevia a série', completou. Iniciada há quatro anos, os quatro livros da saga romântica de Bella e Edward - uma estudante e um jovem vampiro que lutam para sustentar um relacionamento improvável - já venderam mais de 85 milhões de cópias em todo o mundo. No cinema, as duas primeiras partes de 'Crepúsculo' foram sucesso absoluto de bilheterias.
