Na última sexta-feira, 29 de Janeiro de 2010, a partir das 13h, os Pernambucanos comemoraram o Dia do Quadrinho Nacional com uma série de palestras memoriais no Auditório Capiba da Faculdade Maurício de  Nassau. O público assim que chegava se deparava com uma exposição em banners retratando as origens das Histórias em Quadrinhos, que finalizava na publicação dos quadrinhos de Ângelo Agostini que marcam a data de 30 de janeiro como dia do Quadrinho Nacional e colocam o Brasil como o 3° pais a produzir a versão moderna das histórias em quadrinhos, muito antes do yelow Kid nos EUA. A abertura do evento ficou por conta da conferência de Laílson de Holanda Cavalcanti sobre as sete edições memoriais do Festival Internacional de Humor e Quadrinhos de Pernambuco – FIHQPE, suas inovações estéticas e os ilustres convidados, nacionais e internacionais, com especial destaque para a vinda de Will Eisner. Antes disso, Laílson premiou a platéia com uma excelente retrospectiva de sua trajetória profissional, resgatando na fala, a uma parte significativa dos eventos importantes sobre Quadrinhos, charge e Cartum que ocorreram no Estado e sua influência na introdução de Pernambuco no circuito internacional do humor e dos quadrinhos e que se encontra defasado nos últimos anos pela não continuidade do Festival.  Lailson abre o evento analizando sua carreira e sua contribuição com o FIHQ-PEA seguir a desenhista e professora Danielle Jaimes resgatou a recente produção de quadrinhos voltados para a educação e a história de Pernambuco, com a série “Passos Perdidos, História Desenhada” sobre a Presença Judaica em Pernambuco, e o álbum “Heróis da Restauração Pernambucana”, sobre a Capitulação Holandesa. Sua explicação mostrou o resgate que a equipe fez da urbanização dos bairros da cidade, do resgate histórico e cultural.  A professora Danielle Jaimes comenta a produção da série “Passos Perdidos, História Desenhada” sobre a Presença Judaica em Pernambuco, e o álbum “Heróis da Restauração Pernambucana”Depois destas duas falas foi montada uma mesa sobre o Perfil da Produção Atual de quadrinhos no Mercado em várias perspectivas: primeiro com o Grupo PADA – Produtora Artística de Desenhistas Associados, através dos membros Milson Marins e Arnaldo Lúis que compartilharam com o público a trajetória de publicação de seu Fânzine/Revista Prismarte, atualmente na edição de número 51.  Milson Marins e Arnaldo Luiz expõe a trajetoria da Prismarte expondo ao publico da publicação na cena dos quadrinhos pernambucanosDepois foi a vez do professor doutor Henrique Magalhães da Universidade Federal da Paraíba [UFPB] expor sua trajetória profissional e acadêmica com a publicação de tirinhas de quadrinhos e o estudo sobre os Fanzines, no brasil, França e na Espanha, finalizando sua exposição com o perfil editorial da Marca de Fantasia, única editora especialziadano Gênero quadrinhos do Norte-Nordeste, publicando não só quadrinhos dos mais diversos gêneros, dos independentes aos comerciais, como é a única editora brasileira especializada na publicação de estudos Acadêmicos sobre o Gênero Quadrinhos.  Henrique Magalhães expõe o perfil editorial da Marca de Fantasia, única editora especialziadano Gênero quadrinhos do Norte-NordesteA mesa findou com a fala do quadrinhista Pedro Ponzo, que diferente dos demais, tem sua produção voltada quase que esclusivamente para o mercado norte-americano. Ponzo dividiu com a platéia a experiência de trabalhar como Ghost [desenhista que não tem o crédito nas publicações e que preparara as páginas para os desenhistas oficiais] até ser reconhecido e assinar a primeira edição publicada nos EUA. Após a surpreendente visão ampla dos mercado no qual os quadrinhista pernambucanos estão inseridos, foi a vez do professor Amaro Braga, organziador do evento mapear através de imagens a prá-história das histórias em quadrinhos, registrando as cenas qeu incirpiravam a linguagem sequêncial nas pinturas rupestres, nos murais egípcios, nos vãos gregos, nos códices Maias e até nas tapeçarias medievais e nos murais romanos, vinculando a História dos Quadrinhos ao panorama da História da Arte universal.  Professor Amaro Braga, organziador do evento mapear através de imagens a prá-história das histórias em quadrinhos.Como previsto a programação se encerrou com a fala e conversa com a platéia do jornalista do Diário de Pernambuco, André Dib comentando sua experiência com o Jornalismo sobre Quadrinhos. Atualmente Dib é o único jornalista que tem administrado e assinando de forma constante a pauta sobre quadrinhos no Estado.
